About Us

Hulusi Behçet Life Sciences Research Laboratory (HUBAL) is a multidisciplinary, central research laboratory with a great infrastructure and required instruments for life sciences research, established at İstanbul University as part of a project supported by the Ministry of Development of Turkey. Units active in the fields of Genomics, Neuroscience, Biotechnology, and Drug Research/Pharmaceutics have been completed in 2014 and many projects have been initiated in these fields. We aim to contribute to translational research in healthcare with the infrastructure established.

HUBAL has been structured so as to make its equipment park accessible not only for researchers from İstanbul University but also from other universities and research institutions.

Research Infrastructure of the Laboratory: 3.0 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) System, Functional MR (fMRI) Attachment (visual, auditory stimulus presentation system and response buttons), MR Compatible Digital EEG System, Laser Scanning Confocal Microscope, Ultracentrifuge, Real-time Polymerase Chain Reactor, Piezo Impact Micromanipulator, Vertical Air Flow Cabinet, Liquid Nitrogen Storage System, CO2 Incubator, Individually Ventilated Plexiglas Animal Cages.
